John H. Brown, President: John is a retired Pastor with 45 years' experience in program development and management. He presides over board meetings. He is involved as a volunteer in Nicaragua in community development work in remote areas, making three trips a year at his own expense. John also does research on programs to help the poor take charge of their lives.
Delores Scott, Vice-President: Delores is the retired director of Senior Resources, a government funded organization that provides services to the aging in three counties. Her latest project was developing a multi-service Senior Center, a project that cost over $2,000,000. She presides over meetings in the absence of the president, works on developing projects, and has made two trips to Nicaragua at her own expense to work on projects.
Linda Wheeler, Secretary: Linda has a degree in landscape architecture. She worked in facilities management for Ely Lily in Indianapolis before moving to Michigan. She and her husband, David, have owned and managed a wholesale irrigation supply business with different outlets. They are now retired. She keeps our organization's minutes. Linda has made two trips to Nicaragua at her own expense.
Donna Scott, Treasurer: Donna is the Program Director for First Baptist Church, Muskegon, Michigan. She has managed a community religious TV Channel that serves several churches for 30 years. She has considerable program development experience. She also has special skills and experience in working with children. Donna has made three trips to Nicaragua at her own expense.
Dr. Robert Christie, Board Member: Robert is a retired dentist. He has worked as a volunteer in Nicaragua since 2004. He developed a program to train indigenous people in being dental health educators and promoters of dental health. Robert also developed a dental office in the Baptist Hospital in Managua, Nicaragua. He has collected and shipped two containers of dental equipment to Nicaragua. He spends 6 months a year in Nicaragua at his own expense.
Richard Scott, Board Member: Richard retired as Director of Parks and Recreation for Muskegon, Michigan after over 30 years of service. He has valuable and extensive experience in construction, program development, program management, and grant writing. He recently retired a second time as Director of Youth for Christ in Muskegon, Michigan. He has made two trips to Nicaragua at his own expense.
David Wheeler, Board Member: David is a specialist in irrigation projects and materials, with over 35 years of experience. He worked for Rain Bird for several years. He owned an irrigation supply business and had the Michigan franchise for golf courses for Rain Bird. He is multi-talented and experienced in all aspects of construction, strategic planning, and business management. David has made two trips to Nicaragua at his own expense.
Dr. Dennis Henderson, Board Member: Pastor Dennis has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, a Master of Divinity from Baptist Bible Seminary, and a Bachelor of Religious Education from Baptist Bible College. He has served as pastor in three previous Baptist Churches in Philadelphia, PA, Jamestown, OH, and White Lake, MI. He is presently Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Muskegon, MI. He is the author of the book Hope for New Relationships "A Case Study of Friendship and Strength. Pastor Henderson is a professional wed page creator and a chalk artist. He helps design and manages our web page as a volunteer.
